We establish relationships with the individuals who live at Harbor House Ministries in order to engage with them in every aspect of life such as:
- assisting with personal hygiene, feeding, mobility and other individual personal care needs
- engaging in spiritual practices as desired by the individual in care
- supporting emotional wellbeing
- encouraging social interactions at home
- facilitating experiences in the neighboring community.
We build your direct care skills through paid training which includes online and in-person classes and hands-on learning.
You can expect to gain experience in:
- taking vital signs
- assisting with PT goals
- assisting at mealtimes
- charting information on residents’ medical and daily care plans
