Community

Harbor House Ministries is a vibrant community of people with diverse abilities and challenges.  Together we work to foster a community where each person is valued as an individual and as a part of the greater community.   The Harbor House Ministries community includes individuals who live at Harbor House, their families, friends, staff, and neighbors.

Admission Process:

The admission process at Harbor House Ministries begins with an inquiry or a tour.  We would like to talk with you about your care needs and most importantly about your hopes and dreams for daily life.

Once it has been determined that Harbor House Ministries is the right fit for your residential services needs,  approval must be received from insurance.  For most people, the insurance is a form of Medicaid,  Medicare, or auto insurance.  Typically, the case worker from your insurance will contact Harbor House Ministries to discuss your care needs and the insurance expectations in meeting those needs.

Openings at Harbor House are somewhat rare. If there is no opening, you can be added to our inquiry list. When an opening becomes available, first priority will be given to those in the Ottawa County Community Mental Health district, followed by other counties and private insurance.

After an agreement is reached between Harbor House Ministries and your insurance and placement is approved by all parties, the move-in process can begin.
